Visit the nearby historic Mangonui for a coffee and have lunch at the "World Famous Fish and Chip Shop". Take a day trip to Kerikeri, or further afield to North Cape. Or just sit back, relax and enjoy Coopers Beach.
Coopers Beach is a safe swimming beach suitable for all water sports: swimming, snorkelling, diving, fishing and walking. Just 15 minutes to the local golf course or 20 minutes to Carrington Golf Course.
Kemp House, Kerikeri waterfront
New Zealand's oldest surviving building sits beside the Stone Store on the Kerikeri Basin, about an hour's drive south. Make a day of it with the cafes, galleries and orchards of Kerikeri.
A view and a feast at Mangonui fish and chips
The World Famous Fish and Chip Shop sits over the water on the Mangonui wharf. Order at the counter, find a seat on the deck and watch the boats come and go.

Rod and Marguerite Davies established Fern Flat Pottery over 30 years ago in the Far North of New Zealand. Their work is shown in selected galleries throughout New Zealand and from their showroom in Fern Flat.
Life jackets and kayaks, free to use
We have some beach equipment which we are more than happy to share with our guests, including two kayaks and life jackets. Just come and ask us while you are staying here, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
